The Message of Restoration

Glorious Restoration” by Meghan William, Dyed4you Art

I recently had a conversation with the Father regarding the season of life I’ve found myself in. I confessed that I was finding this season challenging because it seemed like He had me spending so much time and energy focusing on myself and my life. Logically, I understand why; I’ve spent most of my life so focused on caring for others, that there are many areas of my life that are in ruins. I most certainly need the restoration that God is bringing!

I had to admit that I’m finding it painful to feel so full of the Word and many life-giving revelations, but I’m not currently spending as much time as I would like pouring that out onto others. However, the Father’s response to my reflections left me speechless. He said, “I’m empowering you to rebuild your life right now so that you don’t lose sight of the fact that the message of the gospel is for you first. You can’t give until you first receive.”

And suddenly, it was so clear why He has been leading me in the direction that He has. If my life is to be a message that reflects the truth of God’s Word and the abundant life that it brings, then I must first position myself to fully receive the power of the Kingdom in my life. I saw that while I may have a desire to fill my cup with the water of the Word, I don’t always allow myself to take the full drink that I need and receive my own portion of God’s refreshing. As with other areas of my life, I am quick to think about the needs of others while neglecting my own.

While self-focus can certainly be a concern in our fallen human nature, we must be careful to strive for balance in all things. For how can we carry the message of restoration, unless we first permit God to mend the fallen places in our lives? Now, this doesn’t mean that we have to have our lives completely together before we run with the message of the gospel. Instead, we must not lose sight of the fact that our life is the message. We become the tablet that God writes His Word upon.

The power of God’s Word is capable of bringing transformative power in our lives and at a level that is far higher than what we have seen in present times. We are not just here to share the testimony of saints of the past and those around us. We’re here to receive the Kingdom, and then testify to the abundant life that we find in Christ. When we fully receive the Word, we most certainly position ourselves to effectively pour it back out onto the world.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have [it] more abundantly.

Amos 9:11-15 (VOICE) After that happens, on the day I choose, I will rebuild the dilapidating house of David from its ruins, Mend the holes in it, rebuild its wreckage, and restore it just the way it used to be. Then they may possess what remains of Edom, including every person among the outsiders who have been called by My name.

Spring of Hope

“Sun of Righteousness” by Meghan William, Dyed4you Art

John 4:13-14 (NKJV) Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

There is a saying that goes, “Hope springs eternal.” As someone who battled the darkness of depression for over ten years, I once struggled to believe that such a thing was true. Anyone who has faced depression knows that hopelessness is a key component in that battle. Wounds of the past can cast such shadows on our path, that it can be hard to imagine and hope for better experiences in life.

Yet I after walking with God out of depression and through years of emotional healing, I can say with certainty that He is an eternal spring of hope for the hopeless. During times when the Master Surgeon has worked upon my heart, I have faced low moments where hope seemed hard to find. Yet the Holy Spirit has always been faithful to bring to mind words of life He had spoken through dear brothers and sister in Christ. Those words acted as a mirror meant to remind me of who I am in Christ at just the right moment. God would take those simple words of truth and increase them exponentially. Suddenly, the barren landscape of my heart would be flooded with His love and everlasting life.

Beloved of God, refuse to underestimate the power of the words that God releases through you to others! Speaking words of encouragement to people may seem insignificant when compared to the trials and circumstances they are facing. I know all too well how powerless I have felt in such moments, even though God was the one prompting me to release His words.

However, the Apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 3:7 that it is God who gives the increase from our spiritual work. Faithfully speak what Holy Spirit gives you, and watch how God moves. You can trust that, in due time, hope will spring up in the barren places through the words of life you release.

Romans 5:5 (NKJV) Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

1 Corinthians 3:7 (NKJV) So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

The Desert is in Bloom

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV) He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

There is beauty and life blossoming within you, beloved, you just have to look for it. I know the state of your life has seemed so dry and barren for so long. But the past is the past and a glorious future is now upon you.

Know that the arid conditions of your wilderness have only caused you to cry out all the more for the abundant reign of My Presence in your life. You are not forsaken nor are you desolate, for you have responded to My passionate overtures with a blossoming passion of your own. In the midst of the wilderness, you have found your delight in Me. You have stretched your roots out and have indeed found the water and source of all life.

Yes, it is an enigma, how I bring beauty from ashes and death to life. Remember, how I formed man in My image and likeness out of the dust of the earth and how I breathed My Spirit upon him so he should live. Remember, how I breathed over the dry bones to bring the dead back to life. Nothing is too hard for Me. Now, I breathe over you, beloved, unleashing My Spirit of Life in abundant measure.

Look with My eyes now and see how you are blossoming. I make all things beautiful in their time, and all of heaven knows that now is your time to shine as My Bride. Know certainly that I long for you just as much as you long for Me. As a bridegroom waits with joy for his bride, so I wait with joyous expectation for our union. I am counting the moments until all will see that I Am yours and you are Mine!

Isaiah 62:4-5 (VOICE) People won’t talk about you anymore using words like “forsaken” or “empty.” Instead, you will be called “My delight” and the land around you “Married,” because the Eternal is pleased with you and has bound Himself to your land. As a young man marries the woman he loves, so your sons will marry you, Jerusalem. As a groom takes joy in his bride, so your God will take joy in you.

The Joy of Eternal Life

Psalm 16:11 (NKJV) You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Beloved, know that I have given you fullness of joy because I have granted you complete access to My Presence. Resist the urge to become discouraged when the earthly realm shifts your focus and you feel out of alignment with Me. Simply stop, take a breath, and seek Me. Look to the Cross and remember that the way has been paved back into the Garden of My Presence. Your old life is gone and I have made you new. The newness of life that you now have is eternal and lived by faith, and daily I call you to discover what that means.

There is grace upon grace upon grace as you learn how to remain in the flow of abundant life. As much as possible, resist feeling pressured or rushed by the earthly realm. While the world, at times, may seem to be overpowering, it is I, your God, that holds power over all. Victory is not waiting for you in some distant future; victory is available now through My Spirit.

Now is the time to come into My rest. Simply learn to “be” in Me. I created you for freedom, therefore, feel free to live, and move, and have your being in Me. You exist that I might delight in you and that you might delight in Me. Holy pleasure is found as you cease from striving and remain at rest and life-union with your Creator.

Therefore, I say, take of the fruit of the tree of life—My Word. My Word holds the answer to every question you have, it is the antidote to whatever ails you, it is your vision and wisdom, and it contains all of the promises I have given to you. By partaking of My Word—My very nature—your inner life is renewed daily. As your thoughts and perspective become as My own, the uncontainable joy of life will come bursting forth from within you.

John 10:10 (VOICE) The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.

John 4:14 (NLT) But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

I AM Life

John 1:4-5 (VOICE) His breath filled all things with a living, breathing light— A light that thrives in the depths of darkness, blazes through murky bottoms. It cannot and will not be quenched.

Beloved, in Me you have eternal life—now and always. You do not have to wait another moment to grab hold of what I have for you. For the work of redemption was completed on the Cross, and the way to Life was fully restored. If your life is in ruins, I will rebuild it. If your health is failing, I will restore it. If your mind is in disarray, I will make it whole with My peace. And if your heart is parched from unmet needs, I will pour out My love until you are saturated and satiated. You do not need to do anything but receive what I have already purchased for you.

Unforgiveness hinders the flow of My life-giving power. Therefore, forgive yourself for past mistakes and for the errors you may make daily. Forgive those who have torn you down and stolen life from you. I AM your Kinsman Redeemer, and, by My shed blood, all is forgiven. The ruins of your life now belong to Me. It is My job to rebuild and restore you. Run to Me, and let Me cloth you with My Life and My Light.

I made you so that you could thrive and flourish in My presence. In My great zeal, I will carry out My promises and purposes for your life. My angels stand at the ready to usher in My healing touch. Are you open to receiving what I have for you, precious? Will you receive all My blessings? Open your hands and open your heart to My life-giving flow. I will restore and revive you with My love.

Amos 9:11 (VOICE) After that happens, on the day I choose, I will rebuild
the dilapidating house of David from its ruins,
Mend the holes in it, rebuild its wreckage,
and restore it just the way it used to be.
