Come Out of the Box

“Dreaming and Rejoicing” by Meghan Williams, Dyed4you Art

Beloved, come out of the box and come out of hiding. Come out of the trap of thoughts that keep you hidden in shame and fear. Refuse to let self-limiting mindsets restrict and contain you. For when you allow your insecurities to govern and control you, they also restrict the movement of My Spirit through you.

Instead of viewing yourself through the lens of your own weaknesses and failings, chose to see yourself as the temple of the Holy Spirit and a carrier of My Presence. I have designed you in such a way that I might dwell within you and express Myself through you. Therefore, permit Me to have free reign of your entire being. Make room for Me and invite Me to be enthroned in your mind, will, and emotions. I will fill all with My Word—the only authority I have sanctioned to govern you.

Therefore, take inventory of the beliefs that are limiting you, beloved. Discard them, leaving behind the nature of your old man. Be set free and come delight in the liberty of love.

2 Corinthians 3:17 (VOICE) By “the Lord” what I mean is the Spirit, and in any heart where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is liberty.

1 John 4:18 (VOICE) Love will never invoke fear. Perfect love expels fear, particularly the fear of punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been completed through love.

Follow the Beat of My Heart

1 John 4:18 (TPT) Love never brings fear, for fear is always related to punishment. But love’s perfection drives the fear of punishment far from our hearts. Whoever walks constantly afraid of punishment has not reached love’s perfection.

Beloved, be led by the sound of the beat of My heart. Resist the call of the world, which seeks to guide you through fear, guilt, and shame. You are My delight, and I created you for relationship with Me. Knowing Me is about so much more than a list of do’s and don’ts. It’s about more than work, projects, deadlines, and commissions.

Although I have placed purpose within you, your work in this world is still an avenue for your personal connection with Me. I have ordained that each day and every experience would provide you with opportunities to explore the depth of My heart. When you give in to the fear that you are performing wrong or disappointing Me, it creates unnecessary walls of separation between us. Remember: I desire to work with you, in you, and through you. Release the desire to determine what this journey must look like, for My plans for you cannot remain in the box of your understanding. Allow Me to lead and let us move together, always together, beloved.

Therefore, cease from striving and worrying. Fear not, for you do not have to go it alone. Take My hand, and let me lead you in this wondrous dance called life. Lay your head upon My chest, bask in the songs I’m singing over you, and let your feet be moved by their melody. Allow My Presence to intertwine with every area of your life. As you yield to My constant leading, joy, peace, hope will overflow.

Psalm 46:10 (NASB) “Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

To Love and Fear God

“No Other Gods” – by Meghan Williams of Dyed4you Art

Deuteronomy 10:12 (VOICE) And now, Israel, what is the Eternal your God asking of you? Only that you fear Him, live as He wants you to, and love Him; serve Him with every part of you, heart and soul;

For much of my faith journey, I have struggled to understand how a believer can both fear and love God. It always seemed that fear and love were an antithesis to one another. Through many preachers I had been told that God had the right to wipe me from existence for any one of my sins. How could I love and get close to someone who had the power to take my life?

Yet God’s sovereignty is multi-dimensional. He has supreme authority over all of existence, and that means He has as much power to command life as He does to command death. As Judge and King, He sets the rules for what is permissible and what is not permissible. And like the laws of physics, the firmness and truth of His existence and His commandments are not dependent upon our acknowledgement of them. YHVH our God has been, is, and ever will be. We can’t help but have reverential fear for God when we are able to grasp the breadth of His sovereignty.

However, our love for God can also be found as we acknowledge who He is in both character and power. He has a deep understanding of the forces of existence; therefore, He knows which forces bring about life and which ones bring about death. As His children and His heirs, He hasn’t brought us into being only to abandon us to the chaos of creation. He is a Father who has loved us enough to give us His instructions—His Word. That Word is our guide, meant to show us how to remain in God’s light where we will always have access to life.

Our Father and King, calls us to follow Him and walk in the Light. And yet, if we are to follow Him, we must do so with fear and respect for who He is and the authority that He holds. We are to acknowledge God just as we acknowledge our earthly authorities—our parents, teachers, pastors, police officers, military, and so on. We fear these authorities because they have the power to discipline us when we are out of line. And yet, we also love them because they provide for and protect us—our livelihood, future, and safety rest in their hands. How much more ought we both love and fear God, our ultimate Father, Teacher, Judge, and King?
