Sent One

{vision} I saw myself wearing a unique necklace. The pendant was designed like a gyroscope, yet instead of a “wheel within a wheel,” there was a coin within a coin. One coin face had a lion’s head and another that of a man. I had the sense that the other coin faces mirrored the rest of the four living creatures connected to the throne of God, the eagle and the ox (Ezekiel 1, Revelation 4).

Though this vision came to me in a quick flash, many things were downloaded to my spirit all at once. God has been speaking to me a lot about living from the place of our authority in Him. According to Ephesians 2:6, we are seated with Christ in heavenly places. I can be honest and say that although I know this truth with my mind, it is a much different thing to know it in my bones and feel secure in that knowledge. Doubt, fear, and insecurities can creep in and cause a child of God to feel weak and worthless. Therefore, I knew this vision of the necklace was meant to give me further revelation about our royal authority in Christ.

Minding Our Roots

A few years ago, I was reading an article about the human soul from a Jewish perspective, and I was struck by the following phrase, “The root of the soul is God.” These words resonated within me as truth, particularly in light of the creation account. The Word says that God formed man out of the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and man became a living being (Genesis 2:7). While the rest of creation was formed through God’s speech, God bestowed humanity with a little piece of Himself in order to bring us to life.

Yet to have a little piece of the Eternal One isn’t such a little thing when we really stop to think about it. Our humanity enshrouds a potent drop of the Divine. Meanwhile, the Holy Spirit maintains the connection between the human soul and God, enabling us to be extensions of Him in the earth. How amazing!

Although we cannot see our souls, it is much like the idea of a seed that is planted, sprouts roots, and steadily grows into a tree. A tree’s origins as a small seed can often seem like a distant memory. However, that seed is still a present reality in the life of the tree. The small seed contained all of the genetic information necessary to bring the full-grown tree into existence. Essentially, the tree is an extension of a tiny yet mighty seed.

In the midst of a fallen world, this truth can embolden us if we’re able to grasp ahold of it. We may more frequently focus on our human fragility and failings, but the miracle in the midst of our imperfections is that a small seed of the Divine resides within us. When we are willing to tap into our connection with God through the Holy Spirit, He is able to strengthen our inner being with His power (Ephesians 3:14).

I often tap into this overcoming power when I choose to view my circumstances through the lens of my identity as an extension or child of God. How does the all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-loving God view my current problems? Of course, my problems quickly dwarf in size when I remember who I’m seated in heavenly places with (Ephesians 2:6). To know that I was created by and am held by perfect love is empowering, for it opens my heart to receive the character, wisdom, knowledge—the very fullness—of God.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (NIV) For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 2:6-7 (NIV) And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Holding the Right Hand of God

{hearing} I’m going to hold the right hand of God. I’m going to have His favor.

The Father is declaring these words as a truth over you, and He desires for you to come into agreement with them. He desires for you to understand what it means to be favored in His eyes. This concept may be something that you’ve perceived with your intellect, but now Father is calling you to come up a bit higher to understand this from Heaven’s perspective. Come and know what it means to rest in God’s favor and live knowing that, in Christ, you too are seated at the right hand of the Father.

In Scripture, to be at the right side is to be in a special place of honor. The right hand of God is associated with His power, authority, might, and blessings. The Father desires for you to live securely from this position in His Kingdom.

Resist the urge to shrink back or shut down fearing that you are walking in arrogance. There is a difference between confidence and arrogance, between humble authority and a power trip. As a sovereign heir, you have no need to apologize for who are! You are the beloved of the King, and you are a mighty one in Him!

Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you and teach you how to walk in the mantle of favor that God has placed upon your shoulders. For not only will you hold God’s right hand, but He will strengthen your right hand, causing you to be a mighty one in Him and a source of blessing in the earth. Know that God’s grace goes before you and behind you, covering every step that you take.

Colossians 3:1 (TPT) Christ’s resurrection is your resurrection too. This is why we are to yearn for all that is above, for that’s where Christ sits enthroned at the place of all power, honor, and authority!

Ephesians 2:6 (NLT) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

Arise and Build

Beloved, I know that there are moments when you feel intimidated by the call on your life or the measure of the gifts I have given you. When fear tempts you to hold back what I have placed inside you, remember My purpose for raising you up. I lift you up that others may be drawn to the Light of My Spirit within you. 

I have imparted My Spirit, the gifts, and the offices for the building up of the Body. When each member embraces their role and does their part, it opens the door for My will to be made manifest in the earth. From this perspective, not one of you is insignificant or useless. In fact, each of you is a vital part of My Kingdom plan.

I stir you up now to arise and not hold back what I have placed inside you. Let your light shine and let your testimony be heard. Watch as I draw those to you who need the same healing, comfort, and truth that I have given to you. Build them up as I have built you up. Raise them up as I am now raising you up. Arise, and build up the Body.

Ephesians 4:11-12 (VOICE) It was the risen One who handed down to us such gifted leaders—some emissaries, some prophets, some evangelists, as well as some pastor-teachers— so that God’s people would be thoroughly equipped to minister and build up the body of the Anointed One.

1 Corinthians 14:12 (VOICE) It’s the same with you; in your passion for spiritual gifts, seek to strengthen the community of believers, and you will all be better off.
